The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the Digital Regulations Academy (DRA), established by the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST), have hosted an executive masterclass titled “Strategic Foresight for AI Collaborative Frameworks”, in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), on the sidelines of the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR25) held in Saudi Arabia. The masterclass aims to enable participants to understand global AI trends, anticipate future developments, and establish responsible, collaborative governance frameworks that promote innovation while managing potential risks.
The masterclass brings together more than 50 experts from international regulatory bodies. It discussed key topics, including an introduction to strategic foresight, leveraging AI to achieve developmental objectives, reviewing major indicators and trends, and developing future scenarios to support collaborative governance, as well as exploring the strategies for engaging stakeholders in policy making to maximize positive societal impact.
This masterclass reflects the DRA’s ongoing commitment in collaboration with the ITU to enhance regulatory awareness. Since its establishment in 2021, the DRA’s programs have enabled over 1,400 beneficiaries from both the public and private sectors by the end of 2024.
